A NEW YORK inspired LOFT
Developing a decorative scheme for a residential, industrial style apartment in the Melbourne’s inner suburbs. The project required floor and wall finishes, window treatments and furniture selection with a layout for the living, dining and bedroom spaces. The clients requested a sanctuary space to retreat to away from their work as well as spaces to entertain with a contemporary feel. They want to draw inspiration from their travels, in particular their travels to New York and their rich appreciation for its culture and modern art. Using this is as the foundation for the design, there are muted tones, textured fabrics and injections of colour throughout the scheme that create focal points throughout a space. The design has a contemporary flare with elegant clean lines, geometric shapes and chic minimalism to create calmness and simplicity, balanced with excitement by utilising graphic artwork and pops of bold colour.
